Position: Juvenile Day Treatment Monitor

Wages: Pay Grade 2, $14.95/hr.

Hours: Up to 30 hours per week; flexible scheduling is provided from the hours of 7:30am to 6:00pm. No weekends.

Position Summary:

The St. Joseph County's Day Treatment Program is designed to offer an alternative learning environment for children that have exhibited behavioral problems in the traditional educational system. The Day Treatment Program is structured to provide and encourage a positive environment for academic and personal growth for these children. The program includes both on-site and Internet instruction.

The Juvenile Day Treatment Monitors serve as paraprofessionals in overseeing the students and facility, assisting with Internet and other lessons, coordinating activities and providing life skill training - while also performing a variety of administrative and operational support tasks.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Education: An Associates Degree and/or experience in classroom management in an educational or juvenile detention setting is highly desired.
  • Experience: Candidates must have a passion for educating and an appreciation for helping youth learn valuable life skills.
