Deputy County Clerk

Position Summary:

Wage Range: $18.26 - $23.75 per hour, Pay grade 4. In addition to a comprehensive benefit package.

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday (8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.).

Under the supervision of the County Clerk/Register of Deeds, assists in performing the statutory duties of the office. Incumbents in this classification perform a combination of duties including vital records management; elections and voter registration administration; business registrations; property recording and searches; and interaction with the Circuit Court. Customer service includes assisting the public over-the-counter, through mail correspondence, and over the telephone regarding departmental matters.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma with supplemental vocational coursework in office management, bookkeeping or a related field. Associates degree preferred.
  • Experience: Two years of progressively more responsible secretarial/administrative experience.
  • Other Requirements: Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
