Casework Supervisor/Referee - Juvenile Division

Position Summary:

Wages: Starting at $59,863.73-$77,823.18 DOQ/E, in addition to a comprehensive benefit package.
Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday (8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.) in addition to on-call nights and weekends.

Under the direction of the Juvenile Division Director/Referee, supervises caseworkers, monitors their caseloads, and directs and assigns the activities of the Juvenile Division casework staff. Assists the Director with policy development and administration. Oversees the intake and screening of delinquent complaints/petitions pertaining to youths. Serves as referee at informal and formal delinquency hearings. Acts for the Director in the absence of that individual.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Education: This job requires a law degree from an accredited law school.
  • Experience: Substantial professional level experience dealing with delinquent youth with at least two years of experience equivalent to a Caseworker in Family Court-Juvenile Services.
  • Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Michigan Supreme Court Referee certification.
