The Register of Deeds is an elected official whose term of office is four years. This office is the official recording and filing office for all legal documents affecting real and personal property. The Register of Deeds also serves as Chairman of the County Plat Board.
What We Do
We are responsible for recording, indexing, and maintaining the records of all property deeds, mortgages, liens, and land contracts. We also maintain fixture filings under the UCC Commercial Code. Please note: This office does not prepare documents, supply forms, or answer legal questions
