The St. Joseph County Park Commission strives to offer beautiful, natural parks for the residents, visitors, and wildlife of St. Joseph County. Our goal is to provide visitors with the best recreation experience possible, in parks that capitalize on and protect our County’s unique natural resources.

St. Joseph County Parks Locations and Descriptions
 
Cade Lake County Park More
Location: Take US-12 two miles east from the City of Sturgis. Look for Signs and turn south onto Plumb School Rd.
 
Cade Lake County ParkCade Lake County Park is St. Joseph County's newest Park. The park offers 52 acres on the Shores of the 32 acre Cade Lake. Both modern and primitive camping are available with 62 campsites. The park also features a swimming beach, fishing, boat rentals, picnic shelter, playground, hiking trails, and other family activities. For camping information, call (269) 651-3330.
 
Meyer Broadway Park
Location: West of US 131 on Broadway near Three Rivers
 
Meyer Broadway ParkThis park offers 149 acres of wonderful natural areas featuring hiking and walking trails, rolling hills, woodlands, exceptional bird watching and much more wildlife and scenic views. Enjoy the peaceful serenity of nature with all that this park has to offer. A large playground, 1/2 mile paved trail, picnic pavilion, modern restrooms, sand volleyball, and 18 hole disc golf course have recently been added to the park. The park also features snow tubing hills, cross country ski trails, picnic areas.
 
Rawson's King Mill Park
Location: One mile west of Leonidas on King Rd.
 
Rawson's King Mill ParkRawson’s King Mill Park was donated as a park by the Rawson’s who restored the mill and created this favorite park on Nottawa Creek. Enjoy a peaceful adventure with wonderful views of the mill, dam, or creek on one of the two islands. This is the perfect park for a picnic, relaxation, a peaceful walk, or even a wedding. The park offers a picnic pavilion, fishing access, restrooms, walking trails, and two scenic islands.
 
Nottawa Park More
Location: Take M-86 four miles east of Centreville and one block south on Railroad St. in Nottawa
 
Nottawa ParkNottawa Park is our most popular park and it offers free access to one of the few public beaches in St. Joseph County. Come for a swim, to fish, for your family picnic, or spend a few nights camping on the shores of Sand Lake. The park also offers a group picnic shelter, restrooms, picnic areas, softball field, and sand volleyball. Call (269) 467-7848 for camping information, May through August.
 
Palmer Lake Beach
Location: Take M-86 towards Colon and just east of Colon, turn south on Sprowl Rd.
 
Palmer Lake Beach is available through the combined efforts of Colon Township and St. Joseph County Parks. The park offers a chance to beat the summer heat and enjoy a day at the beach. A picnic pavilion and restrooms are also available.
 
Wahbememe Historical Monument
Location: US 131 and US 12 in White Pigeon
 
This historical site has a marker and stone recognizing the achievements of Chief Wahbememe.
 
Hoshel Canoe Park
 
Hoshel Canoe ParkLocation: 3 miles SW of Centreville on Hoshel Rd.

Offers a scenic island on the Prairie River. A great park to enjoy a picnic, start a canoe trip, or try your luck fishing.
Olney Bridge Park
Location: Just N. of M-60 on Olney Rd.
 
Features canoe access to the Nottawa Creek.

Seasonal Park Events
 
Scarecrow Festival
Join St. Joseph County Parks at Meyer Broadway Park the second Sunday in October for the Annual Scarecrow Festival, a stop on the Three Rivers Area Fall Color Tour. Enjoy the Scarecrow Contest, family activities, bands, and other seasonal attractions. For more information, call (269) 467-5519.
 
Disc Golf
Meyer Broadway Park has an 18 hole disc golf course. The course is open during park hours and there is no fee to play.
 
Swimming
St. Joseph County Parks boasts three beaches at Nottawa Park, Cade Lake County Park, and Palmer Lake Beach.
 
Camping

CamperCade Lake County Park offers 44 electric sites, 18 non-electric sites, and modern restrooms and showers. More

Nottawa Park offers camping on the quiet shores of Sand Lake. Nineteen sites are available and ten have electric hookups. Please call the parks office for fee information and reservations. More

 
Snow Tubing & Cross Country Skiing
Snow TubingGrab your mittens and hat and enjoy hours of exciting snow tubing at Meyer Broadway Park on one of our tubing hills and then warm up by the fire with some hot chocolate in the Dimmick Lodge. Sleds are not permitted but we provide the tubes! Groomed cross-country ski trails are also available seven days a week - weather and temperature permitting.

Weddings at the Parks More
Rawson's King Mill ParkRawson’s King Mill Park is a wonderful location for the outdoor wedding of your dreams. You can choose one of the islands or behind the mill on the scenic Nottawa Creek for an ideal setting. Please call the parks office for available dates and fee information.
 
Park Shelter Rentals More
Park ShelterSt. Joseph County Parks has the perfect place for your next family or company outing. Shelters are available at Cade Lake County Park, Palmer Lake Beach, Meyer Broadway Park, Rawson’s King Mill Park, and Nottawa Park. Shelter reservations can be made starting January 1, of the previous year. To make a reservation, stop by the Parks Headquarters at 602 E. Main Street in Centreville or call (269) 467-5519. Reservations fill quickly, so please contact the parks office early for available dates and fee information.
