Don't forget to drop off your books! Once again this year Wenzel Elementary School in Sturgis is collecting new and gently used children's books to fill summer book baskets for their students. If you can help please drop off your books between now and May 31st at the school, 403 S. Park Street in Sturgis. You can also choose to make a monetary donation for the purchase of new books. Last year one-dozen books were given away to EACH of Wenzel's 150 students!
Operation Guardian Angels Ride For Warriors

A special event is coming to and thru Sturgis on Saturday, May 7th when the Operation Guardian Angels Ride for Warriors charity motorcycle ride to benefit veterans and active military in combat zones will stop in Sturgis at 3 P.M. in route to South Bend and Notre Dame. The motorcycle run will depart Hamilton Harley Davidson on W. U.S. 12 in Sturgis and head to Union, Michigan and from there on to Notre Dame. In South Bend a banquet will be held and each ticket purchased for the banquet will receive dinner with a Fighting Irish football player. There will also be a silent auction, photo and autograph sessions. Tickets are $30 per rider or $100 for a banquet-only ticket. For more information on this event go to www.eventbrite.com
