The St. Joseph County Sheriff's Office Dive Rescue and Recovery Unit is accepting applications for volunteer positions for rescue and recovery scuba divers. Active scuba divers are needed. Open water certification by PADI, NAUI or YMCA is a minimum requirement. Advanced open water certification preferred. Under supervision of the Captain assigned to be the Liaison Officer. Diver Rescue and Recovery Personnel are composed of two types of staff. Divers, and Ground Support Personnel. The duties include but are not limited to responding to emergencies upon the waterways of this county, assisting in rescue and recovery operations.
