| Position
Summary: |
| Under
the direction of the Juvenile Division Casework Supervisor/Referee,
performs casework and probation services involving the supervision
and coordination of services for delinquent children, and their
families. Investigates the background of delinquent youths in
order to assist the court in determining the most proper disposition
of each juvenile case and is responsible for supervising, providing
consequences, and developing a treatment plan for assigned juveniles
in order to modify or eliminate inappropriate behavior. Coordinates
supervision of delinquent youth at home, in the community, or
in placement, and monitors their progress. May be required to
perform specialized functions such as; intensive probation,
foster home coordination, prevention work, and foster care work,
intake and hearing work, or other general case management activities
as individually assigned.. |

|
| Education: |
Bachelor’s Degree
in social work, psychology, criminal justice, behavioral
sciences, counseling or a related field. Masters Degree
desirable. |
| Experience: |
Three to six
mont hs experience, including past experience in related
jobs, internships and/or on the job training in this position.
Two years of casework experience in juvenile court or
a related child welfare agency is desirable. |

Certification/
Licensure:
|
Previous Mich
igan Judicial Institute Court Certification, or completion
of same within two years of employment. Possession of
a valid driver’s license required. |
