$13.00 for the first copy of a birth certificate.
$4.00 for each subsequent copy of the same record.

Birth Record Information
Requests must be for persons born in St. Joseph County. Birth records for St. Joseph County start with the year 1867.
Birth records that are 110 years old or older are open to the public. Birth records less than 110 years old are closed to the public. You can only obtain a birth certificate for yourself, your child, a descendant or heir of the deceased or as a legal representative of the person named on the record.
Any requester may obtain a copy of a specific birth record by filling out the Birth Certificate Request Form (PDF - 14.7 KB) and mailing it to the St. Joseph County Clerk with the appropriate fee and identification or by bringing it in person with the appropriate fee and identification.
